Virtual tour

Hole 1 | Noble Arbor | Par 4

Named after one of the original owners, the key to the opening hole is to favour the left side, as the right rough is red staked. A slightly elevated green requires your second shot to carry all the way home.

Hole 2 | Birch Grove | Par 3

Named for the birch trees to the left of the green. At first look this hole seems to be a relatively easy par 3, but beware of the trees and bunkers on the left. Being on the right plateau of this 3-tiered green is of prime importance.

Hole 3 | The Shute | Par 4

Named for the narrow and sloping fairway, you may take this par 4 to the green with a strong drive. Aim left/center of the fairway over the trap. The magnetic green breaks left to right severely.

Hole 4 | Kokanee Glacier | Par 4

Enjoy the view of Kokanee Glacier. A short par 4 with a left to right dogleg, but the left is much safer. The trees to the right have a "Bermuda Triangle" reputation. The sloped green runs more than expected.

Hole 5 | Poop Deck | Par 4

Looking down on the fairway, standing on the tee is like being on the poop deck of a ship. A blind drive with traps lines the fairway with a lateral hazard on the left. Strong players can go for it on the 2nd shot, but beware of the bunkered long narrow green.

Hole 6 | Crow's Nest | Par 5

Named for a huge nest that was built in the pine tree to the left of the green, long hitters can reach this par 5 in two. If you're not long off the tee then you must decide how to clear the creek and land in the flat fairway in front of this highly raised green.

Hole 7 | Tam O'Shanter | Par 3

Named after the high alpine lake Tam O'Shanter (now Plaid Lake), this is our most difficult par 3. A very demanding tee shot must carry to the correct plateau of this three tiered green. Putting up or down these tiers can take a toll.

Hole 8 | Tinker's Grave | Par 5

Named after course architect Norman Woods' dog, Tinker, buried behind the tee. This par 5 can be reached in two good shots. Beware of the hazard along the left. Aim your tee shot at the "purple-ish" tree in the distance, or right of center.

Hole 9 | Hazel May | Par 4

In most cases a tee shot to the fairway of this par 4/5 is essential. The right side is open, but the left side is jail. A long drive invites you to go for the green, but there is a creek short to the left and a pond to the right. Most play smart and lay up. The Hazel May Basin can be seen from the green.

Hole 10 | Wilderness Retreat | Par 4

Cut out of the surrounding wilderness bush, this hole has an elevated tee that tempts you to let out the shaft, but there is only one place to hit the ball - dead straight, as there are acres of trees both left and right. A well trapped, tricky merciless green awaits.

Hole 11 | Satan's Woodbox | Par 3

Named after the all the deadfall that was around this hole during construction. Hit the green on this par 3, or you're in deep trouble. The trap up front is relentless, the other's no better. A roller coaster green makes for an interesting putt no matter where you end up.

Hole 12 | Big Bend | Par 4

Try to strategically place your tee off drive dead centre in the throat of the sprawling dogleg fairway, trying to cut the corner could prove to be a disaster as there is a deceiving inlet. The slightly elevated green requires your ball to be carried all the way with your second shot.

Hole 13 | Dobie's Pass | Par 4

Named after the property owners who's land runs on the left side of the fairway. There's lots of room to the right, including the driving range. From the left side you must be wary of the fruit trees. Another elevated green requires that your second shot be air-mailed all the way home.

Hole 14 | The Peninsula | Par 4

From the tee which is situated on a peninsula on a stunningly scenic pond, don't hit your shot left; straight ahead is best. The right side can be somewhat forgiving, but your second shot has no room for error left or right. Traditionally, this is our fastest green.

Hole 15 | Willowbrook | Par 4

A wide open tee shot awaits you here on the 15th hole. Aiming for the right side of the fairway is typically the perfect placement. The slender Willowbrook Creek guards the front of the green and is frustratingly magnetic for those golfers who mistakingly try to run it up.

Hole 16 | The Fort | Par 3

Named after a huge tree house adjacent to the tee built by local youth during construction, this pretty par 3 gives an opportunity to make up strokes. The pond does not come into play. Some putts from the sides may actually turn uphill. Many "aces" have been had on this hole.

Hole 17 | Lombardy Lane | Par 5

Beware of the tree wall on the left, and the water on the right of this par 5. Stay center throughout the hole. This triple tier green demands your full attention. Named for the row of Lombardy trees running down the right side of the fairway.

Hole 18 | Apple Island | Par 4

Named for the island situated in the pond to the right of the green, with a single apple tree on it. Long ball hitters should be aware of the water on the left. Second shots are longer than you think due to the large green. Multiple putts are the rule.
